AGA Offers New Guidance on FMT Therapies To Prevent C. diff

Treatment with fecal microbiota transplant (FMT) is effective for preventing recurrent Clostridioides difficile infection (rCDI) in adults with robust immune systems, for whom standard antibiotics do not eliminate the bacterium. This is one recommendation in the March 2024 clinical practice guidelines for FMT therapies from the American Gastroenterological Association (Gastroenterology 2024;166:409-434).
