Novel VRE Implicated in Rising BSIs in Canadian Hospitals

Epidemiologists have reported increasing rates of vancomycin-resistant enterococci (VRE) bloodstream infections (BSIs) in hospitals throughout Canada, which could be tied to a novel VRE sequence, according to a new study (Emerg Infect Dis 2020;26[9]:2247-2250).
