Antibiotic prescribing for pneumonia is a series of checks and balances, in which clinicians prescribe antibiotics but must be willing to de-escalate, stop or switch them as more information becomes available, explained Hans H. Liu, MD, FACP, at the 2017 annual MAD-ID meeting in Orlando, Fla.
