What is Next for U.S. J&J COVID-19 Vaccination Effort?

Although not unanimous, the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) voted to restart use of the Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccine without any changes in its original recommendation.

By the end of the second meeting to discuss a serious safety signal after the CDC and FDA instituted a pause in the use of this vaccine, the ACIP left two choices on the table: 

  1. The Janssen COVID-19 vaccine is recommended for persons ages 18 years and older in the U.S.
