The CDC expanded its guidance regarding diagnostic testing for dengue fever and Zika virus among patients with a clinically compatible illness who live in, or recently traveled to, an area where there is risk for infection with either virus.
The recommendations come from a CDC work group consisting of epidemiologists, physicians and laboratorians that convened in January 2018 (MMWR Recomm Rep 2019;68[1]:1-10).
