Zika-Related Pregnancy Loss May Be More Common Than Thought

New animal data raise a concern that pregnancy loss from Zika virus (ZIKV) in humans may be more pervasive than previously thought. 

Researchers found that 26% of monkeys infected with ZIKV during early pregnancy had in utero fetal death (Nat Med 2018;24[8]:1104-1107).
