Researchers have developed three new antibiotics that use antisense therapy to kill Clostridium difficile infection (CDI) while not affecting other bacteria.

By targeting the bacterial genes that are important for C. difficile to survive, the new drugs may be able to better target the specificity that current antibiotics lack (J Antibiot 2018 Apr 19. [Epub ahead of print]).
