In an update for the 2019-2020 flu season, the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) advises families to vaccinate their children against influenza next season with either the flu shot or the nasal spray vaccine.
The AAP Board of Directors approved both options after reviewing the latest data on the inactivated vaccine, which is injected, and the quadrivalent live attenuated influenza vaccine, which is the nasal spray given to healthy patients aged at least 2 years.
This change is in
