There is wide variability and underuse of antiviral treatments for influenza in the pediatric outpatient setting, despite recommendations for use of these products in children (Pediatrics 2021 Nov 13. https://doi.org/10.1542/peds.2023-063481).
Care for children with influenza could be improved with judicious use of available antivirals, especially for children who are at high risk for influenza complications, according to the researchers.
