AAP Issues Revised Guidelines for Infection Control in Ambulatory Settings

The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) released updated guidelines for the prevention and control of infection in pediatric ambulatory settings.
The document revises the initial policy statement unveiled during 2007 (Pediatrics 2017;140[5]:e20172857).

The guidelines, which were developed by the AAP Committee on Infectious Diseases, feature updates on issues including handwashing, antibiotic usage, immunization, and cleaning and safety procedures.

“There are several important
