Antibiotics Early in Life Disrupt Normal Gut Microbiota Development

 
The use of antibiotics, particularly broad-spectrum macrolides, in early childhood interferes with normal development of the intestinal microbiota, according to research in Finland, and it can take a year or more to recover.
