A study exploring the incidence of invasive methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) has found that while certain strains have become less prevalent, only USA100 MRSA bloodstream infections (BSIs) have significantly decreased outside of hospitals.
Although these results support the conclusion that health care infection control interventions contributed to reductions in invasive MRSA in the United States, they indicate areas where additional attention is needed,
