The FDA has granted a second 510(k) clearance to the Selux Next Generation Phenotyping (NGP) System (Selux Diagnostics) for its proprietary NGP Gram-Negative Panel to better assist healthcare providers’ antibiotic prescribing and combat growing antimicrobial resistance (AMR), according to the company.
Data have shown that without a significant change in current treatment options, deaths from superbugs will surpass cancer deaths by 2050.
