No C. auris, Low CPO in Chicago Pediatric Hospital

By Ethan Covey
Although Candida auris and carbapenemase-producing organisms (CPO), two organisms with known drug resistance, have commonly been identified in Chicago-area, long-term acute care hospitals, a study found little to no evidence of either in an local pediatric facility.

This point prevalence survey (PPS) is the first documented screening for C. auris colonization in a transitional care pediatric facility in the United States (MMWR Morb Mortal Wkly Rep 2020;69:1180-1181).
