BOSTON—A rise in white, high school graduates, who inject drugs and have acquired HIV are challenging previous assumptions about the disease, according to a new study from the CDC.
Earlier in the HIV epidemic, people who inject drugs (PWID) and who acquired HIV were more likely to be black individuals who did not graduate from high school, the researchers reported in a presentation at the CROI 2018, in Boston (abstract 971).
