HPV Continues Strong Declines Since Introduction of Vaccine

Incidence of HPV among adolescent girls and young adult women in the United States has declined drastically since the introduction of HPV vaccines in 2006.

A new report, focused on data from 2003 to 2018, found that HPV prevalence has decreased 88% among 14- to 19-year-old girls and 81% among 20- to 24-year-old women during this time period (MMWR Morb Mortal Wkly Rep 2021;70[12]:415-420).
