Tick-borne diseases are increasing as they expand their geographic range, according to the CDC.
In 2017, the CDC reported a record number of cases of tick-borne diseases. Lyme disease, anaplasmosis, ehrlichiosis, spotted fever group rickettsioses, babesiosis, tularemia and Powassan virus disease all increased—to 59,349 reported cases, up from 48,610 cases in 2016.
