Fifteen people have been infected with Salmonella that has been traced to small turtles purchased online, according to the CDC.
The cases were reported in 11 states, but the true number of sick people is likely to be higher because some people recover without medical care and are not tested for Salmonella, the agency said. So far, five people have been hospitalized, but there are no deaths. Many people in this outbreak are children.
