West Nile Rates Fall, Other Arboviral Diseases Rise

CDC data from 2019 show that rates of disease caused by West Nile virus (WNV) fell by greater than 50% compared with other years. However, the incidence of other arboviral diseases, such as those caused by Powassan virus and eastern equine encephalitis (EEE) virus, rose to historic highs (MMWR Morb Mortal Wkly Rep 2021;70[32]:1069-1074).
