A 2017 measles outbreak in Israel occurred in a population of soldiers who had received measles-mumps-rubella (MMR) vaccine.
This, according to a new study, indicates a need for careful monitoring of measles symptoms, even in vaccinated populations, as well as further study of waning vaccine-induced immunity (MMWR Morb Mortal Wkly Rep 2018;67[42]:1186-1188).
The outbreak, which was identified in August 2017, affected nine individuals, all of whom had received at least two doses of
