The involvement of an antimicrobial stewardship team (AST) reduced rates of Staphylococcus aureus bacteremia (SAB) mortality beyond the benefits seen through infectious disease consultation alone (Infect Control Hosp Epidemiol 2019 Jun 14. [Epub ahead of print]).
The results showed that the optimal approach to the management of these bacteremic infections may involve a unified model of care.
