SAN DIEGO—An antibiotic stewardship program at the UAB (University of Alabama at Birmingham) Hospital greatly decreased rates of fluoroquinolone resistance among gram-negative organisms, according to research presented at IDWeek 2017.

Susceptibility to fluoroquinolone increased as much as 40% during the 18-year study period (abstract 892), according to the researchers.
