Keeping HIV Patients in Care

Rural residents of the United States are more likely to be linked with HIV care upon diagnosis than their urban and metropolitan counterparts. However, rural residents have significantly lower rates of care retention and viral suppression.

The findings suggest that additional interventions are needed to increase retention in care and visual suppression among those with HIV who live in nonmetropolitan areas (J Rural Health 2018;34[1]:63-70).
